Circling a Lit Lattice Tower at Night
Eight night frames that circle a floodlit steel lattice tower -- from a distance, from directly beneath its legs and girders, and finally glimpsed through a red wooden gate.
The sequence opens at a distance: the whole tower tilted diagonally across a black sky, its lattice lit orange and white, a lone streetlamp flaring in the corner. It then looks away for one frame, to a building facade where passing traffic streaks into horizontal light below dark windows, a guardrail and traffic cone in the foreground.
From there it moves underneath the tower: crossing legs converge above a dark tree silhouette, girders climb steeply toward the white-lit underside of a platform, and the full width of the base spreads out beside a blazing multi-headed floodlight. One frame lets green foliage overhang the upper section; another keeps only the antenna spire, floating white and orange against a completely black sky.
The sequence closes by stepping back through a large red wooden gate at the edge of a park, an inscribed pillar in the foreground and the tower glowing small and motion-blurred beyond it, beside a bright halo of lamplight.
