The Pen Behind the Stone
One frame turns a working pen into a layered problem of shelter and obstruction.
The enclosure is built from crossings: rails, roots, a paint-flaked plank, corrugated metal. Behind them, a haltered cow holds the center while a pale stone floats out of focus across its body.
Shade makes the space difficult to read. The animal appears only through gaps, allowing shelter and obstruction to occupy the same plane.
