Street to Shoreline

Seven frames trace a single walk from a built threshold to open water: gateways, tarpaulin awnings, and lettered signs give way to moving scooters, then to boats and a quiet shoreline. Motion blur and soft focus run through the middle of the sequence, so stillness returns only in the final frame.

The sequence opens at a threshold. Seen through a concrete gateway with a dark metal awning, a street carries on beyond: power lines, a lamppost, a red-and-white banner hanging slack on its pole, and a rider on a scooter blurring past shopfronts under a white sky. From there the frames stay close to the roadside. A printed tarpaulin reading "air mineral prim-a" sags over a small shop doorway, where a white wheeled cooler stands on pale tiles beside stone-clad steps and a leaning wooden pole.

People arrive in fragments. An elderly woman in a pale headscarf, red top, and patterned sarong is framed against a white utility cabinet dense with dark graffiti tags, a warning sticker, and layered posters. In the next frame the asphalt tilts across most of the picture, rising toward a person on a blue plastic chair at the curb, and then a pair of scooters smears across a street of lit shop signs, the parked bikes and standing figures holding still while the riders dissolve into streaks.

Then the road runs out. Two boats, one under a flat canopy, sit in churned shallow water while a man bends at the stern, dark rocky ground soft behind them under a heavy overcast sky. The final frame lets the light back in: shell-strewn dark sand slopes toward calm water, a pale surfboard rests in the foreground, and a canopied boat floats near a low rocky point beneath clouds turning pink.
