Plants Around a Listening Machine
A domestic listening setup becomes a contest between orderly machinery and the plants pressing in from every edge.
The turntable is protected, parked, and ready: tonearm under acrylic, silver controls aligned beside it, papers tucked below. Yet the room will not stay orderly. Monstera leaves cross the lid, vines rise from a ribbed terracotta pot, and red speaker grilles burn at both margins.
Sunlight enters from the right and makes every surface declare itself—angled wood grain, clear plastic, brushed metal, leaf skin, brick beyond glass. The equipment promises sound; the frame catches the charged silence before it starts.
