The City Becomes Pure Light
Eight night-time frames that move from a blurred indoor moment through a recurring lit storefront to close signage and dissolve into pure abstracted light.
The sequence opens indoors with a motion-blurred figure gesturing at a pale wooden table, a glass of iced drink standing sharp and still in the foreground. It then returns three times to the same brightly lit corner storefront, first quiet, then crossed by a blurred pedestrian, then seen from farther down the block with groups gathered near its entrance.
A close frame follows a red paper lantern glowing beside a wall densely layered with stickers and pasted notices, one strip of lettering appearing to spell 'NIGHT.' The sequence then moves to a narrow street where a walking figure blurs past a sticker-covered pole lettered 'CBD HILL.'
It closes on two frames of pure signage and light: large red neon katakana characters spelling 'karaoke' beside blue neon tubing and silhouetted figures in a lit window above, followed by an abstract final frame of glossy red shapes and streaked rows of small light bulbs.
